Camilo Pascual allowed eight hits in the first game of the double header, but only one of those was for extra bases. He struck out nine on the way to his seventh shut out of the season. Joe Altobelli knocked in three of the Twins’ five runs, including a solo home run (2).

The Twins only managed six hits in the second game, all of them singles, but drew six walks and scored five against the Indians, whose starter was Mudcat Grant – a pitcher who had given the Twins fits in the past.
