1961 Game 133: Boston Red Sox (64-73) @ Minnesota Twins (58-74)

Saturday September 2, 1961

Red Sox 2, Twins 1

Don Lee had what was probably his best outing for the Twins. Unfortunately for Lee and the Twins, Red Sox pitchers Bill Monbouquette and Arnold Earley were able to strand eight Twins’ base runners. Despite out-hitting the Sox 9-6, the Twins could only muster a single (unearned) run against the Red Sox in the 2-1 loss.
