1961 Game 128: Baltimore Orioles (75-55) @ Minnesota Twins (55-72)

Sunday August 27, 1961

Orioles 3, Twins 0

Milt Pappas allowed just two hits over nine innings pitched while striking out 11 to help his team sweep the Twins at Met Stadium.

All three of the Baltimore runs came on solo home runs, and all three of those came off the AL leader in home runs allowed, Pedro Ramos. The barrage extended his total to 35.

Neither Maris or Mantle homered in their game on Sunday, and both are likely disappointed they won’t get to see Ramos when the Yankees come to Bloomington on Tuesday.
