1961 Game 123: Minnesota Twins (53-69) @ Chicago White Sox (63-60)

Tuesday August 22, 1961

White Sox 4, Twins 3

A three-run top of the fourth inning looked as though it might hold up to be enough for the Twins to earn a win, but the Sox scored a couple of late-inning runs to take the lead and ultimately win the game.

Pedro Ramos, somewhat surprisingly, did not allow a home run in the game. He went the distance for the Twins in a losing effort.

With the score tied in the bottom of the ninth inning and one out, Minnie Minoso doubled. After an intentional walk and a foul pop out, Nellie Fox sent the Comiskey crowd home happy with an RBI single to win the game.
