Friday August 11, 1961

Twins 2, Tigers 1

The Twins competed in their ninth straight one-run game, although this time the outcome went the Twins way (for only the second time during that stretch).

Pedro Ramos held a very good Detroit lineup to just a single run on six hits with 10 strikeouts. The offense came from Earl Battey, who hit two solo home runs (11,12).
