1961 Game 97: Washington Senators (43-53) @ Minnesota Twins (40-56)

Wednesday July 26, 1961

Twins 10, Senators 9

The story of game two of the series was big innings. The Senators scored five runs in the sixth inning, but the Twins managed innings of three runs (second inning), three runs (fifth inning), and four runs (sixth inning). Ted Lepcio’s three-run home run (5) got the scoring started in the second inning. Catcher Hal Naragon had three hits in the game, as did Lenny Green who also knocked in four in the Twins’ 10-9 win over the Nats.

Camilo Pascual did not have his best game, allowing six runs in 5 2/3 innings pitched. The long ball is what burned him – he allowed three.
