The Twins led 6-2 after one inning of play and 11-8 after five innings, but the Angels’ offense was relentless against Gerry Arrigo, Chuck Stobbs, Bill Pleis, and finally Camilo Pascual.

Los Angeles tied the game when Larry Thomas hit a three-run home run in the top of the eighth inning. The winning run came on an Albie Pearson single in the ninth. The Twins, for their part, were retired in order in the bottom of the ninth.
