Was That Francisco Liriano?

Game 65: Twins 2 (38-27), Rockies 1 (33-32)

“He had electric stuff,” said shortstop Nick Punto, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI. “His fastball was exploding. His breaking stuff was on. No runs, seven innings, 12 Ks — that’s pretty good.”

“Nice win by us tonight; the starting pitcher was fantastic,” Gardenhire said. “Bake had great stuff and it’s a big-swinging team over there. You knew if he had his good stuff tonight, he could do some damage, and he did.” –Both quoted by Joe C.

With the exception of Tuesday’s game, the Twins have had some problems scoring runs lately. Scott Baker made sure they didn’t need the runs, twirling a seven-inning, two-hit, 12-strikeout masterpiece to lead the Twins to their second 2-1 victory in less than a week.
