The Orioles scored first by stringing together three hits following a walk in the first inning. They added a pair in each of the sixth and the seventh innings to build a 6-0 lead on the Twins and Jim Kaat. A Harmon Killebrew two-RBI single in the bottom of the seventh was the only offense the Twins could muster in their 41st loss of the season.
